OP: Damage Control IV

Wowzers!  We’re up to DCIV already!  Well, granted, it’s not until October, but we wanted to get a a jump on spreading the word a little early this year.

What is it?

Four years ago, a number of airsoft fields worldwide came together in solidarity to raise funds to help our respective country’s veterans.  SAASMaine kept doing it, and the past two years we’ve made it into a 24-hour “chillsim”, which is like a MILSIM, but we’re more relaxed about uniform requirements, etc.  it’s a continual storyline, building on the previous years, which makes this a literal “choose your own adventure” game that makes it way more fun for me to write.  🙂

DCIV will consist of six “Chapters” which will be comprised of four 1-hour Phases.  Players are allowed to take breaks throughout, and we don’t charge extra for camping.  But that will all be covered later.

Why is it?

As stated before, we are raising funds to help veterans, and that mission has not changed.  We’ve raised almost $2500 the past three years for the Bangor-based organization MVP, and this year we are bringing the focus a little closer to home:  Veterans Sanctuary Foundation (VSF) right here in Linneus.  Zach is doing a TON of work on a gorgeous chunk of otherwise untouched land and has some amazing plans, all for veterans:

“We are building a Sanctuary off the grid in Linneus, Maine where we can help Veterans be able to decompress, work on their physical and mental needs as well as learn trade skills to help them with their new career choices.”

When is it?

The Raffle
We’ve raffled off some amazing KWA replicas the past three years, QRF Mod.1, Ronin 47, and a Ronin T-6.  This year is no different – we are raffling off another new, yet fantastic, KWA replica from the amazing people at Tactical Parts: the KWA VM4 M10 (VPS) (and, of course, a 6-pack of midcap magazines).  It’s currently on display at The Bunker, so be sure to check it out when you’re here.

The VM4 M10 is compatible with standard AEG M4 magazines and are designed to work with KWA’s designated cutoff magazines; the K120C and MS120C, as well as the PTS EPM for ERG and original PTS PMAG for ERG.  The raffle prize comes with one MS120C, however, the included 6-pack is standard K-120 mags that don’t have the cut-off feature.

We’ll post more about the raffle in a separate blog, but just know that the replica will be thoroughly inspected, tested, and more than ready to rock n’ roll upon receipt.

We will continue with a series of blog posts all regarding DCIV, so keep an eye on this space for more and continuing information.
